Accelerate Design Efficiency Using 3D
AutoTURN Pro 3D takes the transportation design process into another level of efficiency. By incorporating terrain elevation, overhead obstacle, and vehicle clearance data together in the project drawing, issues not anticipated in designing in a 2D plane are now detected and can be resolved using a 3D space.
3D Vehicle Path Simulations
- NEW! Added reverse 3D Arc Path feature (supports one- and two-part vehicles on a terrain)
- NEW! Added ability to be able to convert reverse 2D arc and corner path simulations into 3D
- NEW! Added conflict analysis detection using point cloud data of vehicle and object collision
- Place a 3D vehicle simulation on a terrain using geometry for lines, arcs, polylines, and alignments (simulations are reactive and are updated when changes are made to the source geometry)
- Ability to generate a 3D vehicle swept path simulation based on a pre-defined path
- Continue a 3D simulation to create multiple sections of a simulation at different times

3D Design and Analysis Abilities

- Perform 3D design and analysis by generating a 3D arc path directly on a selected terrain

3D Vehicles and Custom Vehicle Creation
- All national standard design vehicle libraries (AASHTO, TAC, Austroads, etc) includes 3D parameters
- Ability for users to create or import their own 3D drawings for custom vehicles
- Specify three different ground clearances (front, wheelbase, rear) and the front and rear chamfer for a custom 3D vehicle
- Ability to enter customized roofline when creating a 3D vehicle
- Define the maximum roll and pitch angles for an articulating point in a two-part vehicle
- Realistic 3D vehicle drawings supplied for the vehicles in the TRANSOFT/TRANSOFTM libraries
3D Presentation and Reporting Features
- UPDATED! Support of Analyze Punch Through, Analyze Vehicle Clearance, and Punch Through View tools for reverse maneuvers created using the Reverse 3D Arc Path tool
- Use a sample library of 3D realistic vehicles or user imported realistic 3D models for stakeholder presentations
- Generate reports indicating the ground profile, body profile, punch through slice, and punch through line
- Create a 2D report indicating the top of the vehicle body; lowest point along the path (i.e. ground clearance); obstacles (indicating locations of intersections between the drive path and obstacles)

SmartPath Technology
- SmartPath tools uses four interactive drive modes for performing vehicle forward, reverse, and oversteering turn simulations through mouse movements
- SmartPath tools integrate the use of engineering algorithms to account for vehicle speed, superelevation, lateral friction, and turn radii
- Generate Arc Path – create turn simulations (i.e. through roundabouts) by dragging the mouse and clicking from point to point
- Generate Corner Path – produce simulations using an entrance, arc, and exit tangent and use the mouse to lengthen or shorten the tangent
- Generate Oversteer Corner – selecting the desired sweep angle with a mouse click will instantly display whether a turn simulation is viable
- Steer A Path - create simulations using the mouse by dragging the vehicle in any direction within the drawing
Specialized Transportation Systems
- Override Angle for Special Transport is now independent of directional change in the articulating point for the trailer
- Create and simulate vehicles with independent rear steering systems (including crab steering for supported vehicle types)

Customized Vehicle Creation
